D&B TransUnion ADC : About Us : iDo - Individual Social Responsibility

iDo is a social service initiative by D&B TransUnion ADC that focuses on every individual associate of the organization contributing to chosen social causes like educating the underprivileged, Medicare assistance, spreading environmental awareness and a unique Open Source and free software based automation projects for not-for-profit organizations. iDo program was started on 6th September 2007. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is nothing but the sum sigma of individual responsibility of the associates of an organization towards social causes. Hence, we at D&B TransUnion ADC chose to call this "Individual Social Responsibility"

iDo sparked at D&B TransUnion ADC with a noble thought of helping the housekeeping staff and workers at office which was later extended to many other noble activities. These efforts were taken to institutionalize social service activities with an organization-wide expression of humility, care and self-development. As a group of people, we realize our responsibility in our organization goes beyond achievement of purely professional aspirations - we constantly seek avenues through iDo for personal transformation.

iDo Trust was formed to streamline and actionize altruistic intentions by like minded associates, and collectively we have worked at identifying areas where our contribution significantly improves the way of life for society. iDo has nine trustees who also have individual leadership responsibilities. Each leads a set of activities - Educational Assistance, Medical Assistance, Village work, Open Source Application Software development for social causes and Environmental support.


	Mission We will use our skills, knowledge and energy by bringing together all our associates to positively impact the environment and lesser privileged communities around us, especially in the field of continuing Educational assistance and Healthcare facilitation.

We work in a privileged, knowledge-intensive world of globalization and rapid material progress. We bring together the best of our professional knowledge, cutting-edge skills and a results-oriented bias in our efforts for our business, clients and stakeholders. Yet, as we achieve more, we yearn more for the realization of basic human values like Love, Peace and Service.

As individuals and as a group we can contribute to this self satisfaction to a large extent while making a positive impact on the lives of people around us who are not as privileged as we are

"techSAI" (Technology for Social Applications and Innovation) is an initiative to bring together concrete efforts to build software applications and IT support for Social Development causes. The main charter is:

Bring about transformation in Social Service projects execution by helping Institutions automate processes in serving their constituencies more effectively. This will mean better access to information, higher quality of data capture, more effective usage of IT for improving productivity and leverage the Internet and web-based tools for reaching out in a faster and cheaper manner. The thrust will be to fully exploit the trend of Open Source Software Applications development for computerizing Social Service organizations in the areas of Special Schools, Medical Institutions, Old Age Homes and Rural Development.

techSAI, as part of iDo, will have amongst others the following mission:

Constantly research and update developments around Open Source technologies and applications and present relevant finds for further development & customization for iDo constituencies.

Productize, implement and train resources for the propagation of such chosen technologies and applications.

Create and sustain larger public forum for the promotion of this concept - network with other agencies for developing and implementing relevant technologies for Societal Advancement & Integration.

This will mean:

Better access to information

Higher quality of data capture

More effective usage of IT for improving productivity

Leverage the Internet and web-based tools for reaching out in a faster and cheaper manner
