With the overgrowing demand on the services provided by the bureau, CRIB had a long standing requirement in enhancing the efficiency of credit information services to its member organizations. As a result, CRIB modernization project is a broad initiative formulated to accomplish several business objectives within the period of next five years.

| Acquire the latest Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with international standards to improve the credit information services and introduce new products and value-added services to its business portfolio. |
| Collection of information from multiple sources including SMEs and micro lenders on a phased program. |
| Expansion of services to diverse user groups such as lending institutions, other credit grantors, utility providers, government, insurers, SME and micro lenders.

| Provision of opportunity to any person to get his own credit data and dispute error data.
|
| Setup regional credit bureau association with a view to sharing experience with each other and following international best practices.
|
| Forming a CRIB as a service and market oriented commercial entity which can positively contribute to the development of the financial industry and the prosperity of the economy in the country.

CRIB Modernization Project has been awarded to Dun and Bradstreet Information Services India Private Limited which is subsidiary of D&B SAME Ltd. Project has commenced in September 2006 and expected to be completed its first phase by second quarter of 2007.
